Caslino d'Erba

The Caslino d’Erba station was built during the final phase in the modernisation and expansion of the FNM railway network.

Rather insignificant in terms of the history of the railway, it is however one of the most commonly represented views in the images of the day, illustrating different weather conditions as well as its specific function. It was in fact located below the picturesque village of Castelmarte, which, while nominally connected by railway to the previous station of Pontelambro, was accessible from this station via a clearly visible mountain path, culminating in a truly one-of-a-kind pedestrian overpass.
