
Wandering about the line
Little gems of art, demonstrating the difficulty of the panel of judges’ task: the decoration of the stations was really taken seriously, and the annual competition represented the stationmaster’s natural inclination to beautify his workplace, going beyond the call of duty.

This was a task involving not only the railway workers who lived in the station, but those who were present in the guard houses, who held a competition of their own.
