Soncino Cremona

The first section was actually divided into two halves, interrupted by the First World War; in this section, the unusual station of Soresina played a key role in the development of traffic and the infrastructure on which it was to travel.

The area was, and still is, almost entirely agricultural, and the station was initially located beside the main station of the same town on the Cremona-Treviglio line; it stood out for the presence of a turntable that turned the train around so it could set off again in the opposite direction. Before the station was a stop at the beginning of the arrival track, where the track split to permit traffic in both directions.
