Morosolo - Casciago

The station of Morosolo-Casciago is a stop on the Saronno-Laveno line located 55 km along the line, halfway between the two towns after which it is named, Morosolo and Casciago. Morosolo is a village in the municipality of Casciago, in the province of Varese. In the past it was an independent municipality and was valuable for tourism as it is close to the nearby Lake Varese. Casciago is also situated just a few kilometres from the lake. Between 1914 and 1940 Casciago was the location for a stop on the Varese-Angera tramway, run by the Società Anonima Tramvie Orientali del Verbano (SATOV).

The passenger building at Morosolo-Casciago in the 1970s; it was originally gatehouse number 40 (although the service order states number 30), which in 1893 was converted into a stop with the name of Morosolo, for a trial period starting on 1 November of that year. The following year the stop was given its definitive name, which has remained the same ever since.
