Groane - Ceriano - Cesano

La stazione nel 2004: รจ ancora visibile un binario di raccordo

The station opened in 1887 at the same time as the Saronno-Seregno line. From 1958, with the end of passenger services on the line, the station was used exclusively for freight traffic linked to the local BASF and Zanussi factories, accessed via spurs.

It was decommissioned in 2010, at the start of reconstruction work on the line, and reopened in 2012 with its completion, but only as a shunting yard; the nearby station of Cesano Maderno Groane opened in 2013 for the passenger service. To further support the area, the station of Ceriano Laghetto Groane was also built as part of the line reconstruction work. This was a railway stop on the Saronno-Seregno line close to Groane Park, serving the town itself. It remained in operation until December 2018.
