Turbigo is a consortium town member of the Lombard Park of the Ticino Valley. On the way out of the town centre, not far from Palazzo de Cristoforis, is the 17th-century bridge on the Naviglio Grande; it has three arches in exposed brickwork. It is flanked by the remains of the old Austrian customs house dating back to the late 1700s.

Today, the passenger building at Turbigo station is in the modern style. It was renovated in conjunction with work carried out to double the line, which was completed in December 2014, and which concerned the Vanzaghello-Turbigo section. An underpass was built in order to connect the platforms, as well as the new car park in Via Sant’Uberto, at the rear of the station; canopies were also added to the platforms.

The facility has two main line tracks on the Saronno-Novara railway, and at the station the track switches from single to double. In the past there was also a goods yard, which was demolished during work to double the track to make space for the traffic underpass between Via Stazione and Via Sant’Uberto.
