Bollate

Bollate lies north-east of Milan, approximately 12 kilometres north of the centre of the city. The town is served by the Provincial Road, SP ex SS 233 Varesina.
In 1877 this route was served by the Milan-Saronno tramline, serving the city with two stops located in Baranzate (annexed to Bollate in 1880), one in Ospiate and one in Torretta, at the border between Arese and the village of Castellazzo.
In 1889, operation of the line was transferred to Ferrovie Nord Milano until 1925, when it was permanently closed. The Bollate area is also skirted by the A52 North bypass, and there are two railway stations in the municipal area: Bollate Centro and Bollate Nord.
