Erba

The town of Erba is located at the foot of the Lombard Prealps, in the region of Brianza, on the Erba Plain. The Bova and Lambro rivers run through it. The municipality as it is today is the result of a series of mergers, the most important in railway terms being the merger in 1906 with Incino, taking the name of Erba Incino for twenty years.
The local area is served by the station at Erba, in the Incino district. In 1912, the city also became the end of the Como-Erba tramway, whose terminus stood adjacent to the railway station, named Erba-Incino, which was abolished with the construction of the Erba-Asso line. In 1928, the tramway was extended as far as Lecco, and remained in operation until 1955.
