Arosio

La stazione in una grigia giornata a metà degli anni Trenta
Arosio, la stazione oggi

Arosio is located along the "Nuova Vallassina" road which connects Milan and Como, in an area considered to be a gateway to Brianza. The earliest inhabitants of the area were the Insubri, an ancient Celtic or Ligurian-Celtic tribe. In Roman times, the Mediolanum-Bellasium way passed through Arosio. This road connected Mediolanum (Milan) with Bellasium (Bellagio). Arioso is in the Brianza hills, on the right bank of the Lambro river.

The town forms a triangle inside the three main roads: the Nuova Vallassina, the Novedratese and the Arosio-Canzo. The neighbouring towns are Inverigo, Giussano and Carugo. The southern border is also the edge of the province of Como. The old town is located on nearby hills, offering a stunning view of the pre-alpine mountains.
