Notable stations

This room is dedicated to telling the story of the most significant facilities in the history of Ferrovie Nord Milano, the terminus stations, whose historical importance is due not only to commuter traffic but to tourist traffic as well.

Their impressive architecture, with a particular focus on their gradual expansion over time, has made them an undisputed symbol for the image of the railways, gradually becoming an essential part of the urban fabric and its development since the very beginning of their construction

The history of Milano Cadorna speaks for itself. Over time, Novara, Laveno, Como and Asso have become renowned tourist destinations. Varese has bloomed as the “garden city”, a definition that sets it apart throughout Italy. Saronno has grown along with its industrial fabric, which has benefited greatly from the railway. Last but not least, the now closed Bullona, once famous for being the gateway to the exhibition centre and now recognised as a cultural asset.
