Signal Boxes
The idea of a virtual museum originated from a desire to “expose” some of the more significant elements of the world of rail transport, normally hidden from public view, so that they might be made available as platforms for curiosity and for further learning.

One of the most striking examples of this is the building dedicated to the signal box, for years the true nerve centre of the station’s systems and of railway circulation as a whole, in the hands of very special men who were dedicated body and soul to their jobs. The most important of these was, of course, located at Cadorna, but similar seemingly insignificant buildings are to be found on every line: these images represent a fitting tribute to them.
