Milano Nord Simonetta
Also dating back to 1928 is a branch line that ran from Bovisa Ghisolfa to the small goods yard at Milano Nord Simonetta, later closed down in 1958. This yard, recently demolished to make way for new buildings, was located in the area bounded by the Farini Yard, Via Aosta and Via Principe Eugenio.
Now no longer in existence, during its brief lifespan it represented a substantial portion of the daily life of FNM, as, also housing employees, it represented the company’s true goods yard.
Unfortunately, all that is left of the building today is a gloomy photo, and some grey archive images of the overpass. However, reproduction of the colour images of an old expansion project highlights its importance in history and restores it to its rightful place in our memory.

It then diverged to the left near Mac Mahon, which did not act as a branch line but only as a block post on the main line. The Milano Nord Simonetta rail yard was located between what is now Via Aosta and Via Principe Eugenio.
