Hollow rectangular forged body. The front face consists of a cover connected to the body by 4 bolts, one at each corner, with a seal in between. The cover incorporates a protruding pan with a cap for adding oil, and there are two guide lugs on the sides, created during forging. The back is completely open, with a housing for a special seal to keep oil and dust out.
The block of the bushing contained: the stub axle of the rolling axle; the lubrication cushion; the bearing, with a slide bushing and a spacer tie plate above it; oil.
It was assembled on the bogie and enclosed the plain bearing on which the weight of the railcar rested. In this case it was an electric railcar; it had a small vertical travel guided by the fins.
This block bushing is marked "F.N.M. n° 3" because, in the Ferrovie Nord workshops until the 1970s, complete overhauls were performed on site and a multitude of replacement parts were built,
because they could no longer be found on the market, especially in the case of pre-war rolling stock. There was a forge and a foundry, and highly specialised workers in the carpentry department prepared models for forging. The bushing shown here was made in-house. The wood used to make the model was Swiss pine.
