Gripper punch with steel handle used by electrical worker. Its template bore the letters ACS and the number of the worker using it.
The letters ACS stood for Apparati Centrali Segnalamento, indicating that the worker using it specialised in work on interlocking safety levers for train circulation. These apparatuses contained sealed mechanisms that could be unsealed in an emergency attributable to an anomalous situation. The seal could only be restored, once the problem had been resolved, by a worker with this type of punch.
